The country has sunk into darkness. The deserted city is like another planet. Like the cities, people are locked up. Many are starving. Some cry for help, while others die. Until one day, the city gates open, fooling people into thinking that they had regained their freedom. They pack up to escape this endless night, only to be washed away by the dark tie of the times into a deeper unknown.
NIGHT OF NIGHTS takes us into the surreal world of the post-2020 China, where a plague has changed everything, and its lonely cities reside on a faraway planet where nights exist without days. There, patients beg to be treated at hospital gates, and children cross unimaginable obstacles just to see their parents. Many in wealthiest cities starve. Many quietly leave this world under the at-all-cost government policies. After 3 years, the China that we thought we knew has become something else, with us Chinese losing so much that is precious to us. When the restrictions are finally lifted and gates swing wide open, we think we have reclaimed our freedom. We pack up to escape this endless night, only to be washed away by the dark tide of the times into the deeper unknown.
